About
East Flora Wellness has evolved slowly over many years of study, hands-on practice, and caring for bodies. At some point, I realized most people are simply trying to feel better, yet are often handed a long menu of modalities and expected to know what their body needs before they have even arrived. So over time, the work became simpler.
Rather than choosing a treatment, clients simply choose the amount of time they would like to receive. Each session is guided intuitively through a blend of restorative bodywork therapies. My work is especially centered around nervous system support, women’s health, and creating treatments that feel both therapeutic and deeply comforting. Warm stones, heated oils, tea on arrival, and quiet attention to detail are woven throughout the experience.
Many clients come initially for relaxation. What they often discover is something more restorative than they expected, a calmer nervous system, deeper sleep, less pain, and a softer relationship with their body. Sometimes even the feeling of wanting to reorganize their whole life afterward. This work is less about fixing and more about creating enough safety for the body to soften on its own.
Before arrival.
Founder
I’m Mochani Devi, founder of East Flora Wellness in Charlottesville.
I am a third-generation health practitioner. My father, a Haitian physician, and my mother, a Guyanese doctor of nursing and professor, were my first teachers in understanding care, presence, and the body’s capacity to heal.
Much of my work was shaped through six years living and serving in a temple under the guidance of a Hindu swami, where healing was understood as both practice and devotion.
East Flora exists somewhere within the meeting place of those worlds, clinical and intuitive, structured and deeply human.
Over the years, my work has taken place across private practice, healing centers, retreats, universities, festivals, and wellness spaces throughout Virginia.
