A Natural Approach to a Life Well-Lived
East Flora Wellness is a space for wellbeing, longevity, and wholeness, nestled in the heart of Charlottesville, Virginia. Created for those seeking regeneration, recuperation, and nourishment, East Flora offers an integrative approach to wellness—one that honors the body and mind as an inseparable whole.
Founded by Mochani Devi Gay, a third-generation health practitioner, East Flora is rooted in a lifelong relationship with healing. Born in Georgia, raised in Virginia, Mochani is the daughter of Afro-Caribbean parents devoted to the care of others—a Haitian physician father and a Guyanese nurse scholar mother—Mochani grew up witnessing health as both science and service. Her name, Mochani, means liberation, a meaning that quietly guides the spirit of this practice: healing as a return to freedom within the body, mind, and soul.
Drawing from ancient wellness philosophies and cultural healing traditions from around the world, East Flora blends bodywork, energy healing, and herbal therapies with thoughtfully handcrafted body care products. With a background in cultural studies and art history, Mochani approaches wellness as both an embodied practice and a living cultural lineage—one that honors shared wisdom across borders and traditions. At East Flora, healing is understood as something we learn from one another, as one earth family.
What sets East Flora apart is a deep commitment to authenticity and spiritual as well as physical transformation. Years of yogic study with a Hindu swami, along with a devotion to simplicity, stillness, and intentional living, shape a practice that moves slowly and with care. Here, healing is not about excess or escape, but about presence—creating space for the body’s natural intelligence to unfold.
East Flora Wellness is an invitation to soften, to reconnect, and to remember what it feels like to live freely and well—rooted, whole, and at ease.

M.A. Center
Each year, we support Embracing the World, a global network of humanitarian organizations inspired by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math in India. This initiative works to alleviate the burdens of the world's poor by providing food, shelter, healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities, wherever and whenever possible.
Midwives for Haiti
Every year, we donate a portion of our sales to Midwives for Haiti, supporting their mission to bring skilled maternity care to the heart of rural Haiti. With your help, we're ensuring that mothers no longer worry about being turned away, finding a compassionate hand when they need it most, and receiving the crucial care that can save lives.
The Amazon Conservation Team
We dedicate a portion of our annual sales to the Amazon Conservation Team (ACT), which partners with indigenous and local communities to protect tropical rainforests and preserve traditional cultures. By supporting their vital work, we help ensure the survival of these ecosystems and the rich cultural heritage they sustain for future generations.
